The annual FRPA Agency Summit is an ideal time for agency directors and assistant director level staff to connect with others of like positions throughout the state to learn about and discuss relevant topics in the park and recreation field.

10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Career Mapping
Krista Campbell, Kapstone Consulting
FRPA has embarked on an initiative to develop a career map that will guide parks and recreation professionals through a journey to executive leadership.  Focus will be on education, learning, experiential learning, and professional growth through engagement.  This session will review and discuss trends with skill based hiring, engaging and retaining talent, and next steps in this important initiative.

2:15 PM - 3:15 PM Cascades Park: A case study on Resilience, Real Estate, and Return
Autumn Calder, Director, Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency
Cascades Park is a model for resilience, real estate vitalization, and economic return.  Originally designed as a stormwater solution, it now serves as a world class urban park, spurring nearby development, enhancing property values, and driving tourism.  This transformative space blends flood protection with recreation, culture, and economic growth in Tallahassee-Leon County.  
3:25 PM - 3:45 PM Travel to Cascades Park
This will be by bus. 
3:45 PM - 5:00 PM Tour of Cascades Park
Explore the park everyone in Tallahassee is talking about! We will hear from the Tallahassee Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department about the operational features of the park and have the opportunity to take a walking tour of the spaces. Of interest are the Smokey Hollow Neighborhood Commemoration, Korean War Memorial, the Meridian Point Site, The Adderly Amphitheater, a replica of the first Florida State Capitol, and much more!
5:20 PM - 6:00 PM Travel to Wakulla Springs State Park
This will be by bus.
If you are not planning on attending the evening event at Wakulla Springs, transportation will be available to return you to the hotel or Champions Club.
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Wakulla Springs Boat Tour and Education
The culmination of our day will end at Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park.  Home to one of the world’s largest and deepest freshwater springs, the sapphire water of Wakulla Springs boasts manatees, alligators and a host of diverse wildlife that can be viewed from a riverboat or the diving platform.  Hear how Tallahassee’s Cascades Park benefits the natural springs of this historical beauty.
7:15 PM - 9:00 PM Dinner at Wakulla Springs Lodge
Included in registration - transportation back to hotels after dinner.

Tallahassee is home-base for Florida’s state agencies, many of which work in partnership with parks and recreation agencies. Hear updates from established partners, as well as a look forward to what is on the horizon.   
12:45 PM - 1:00 PM Wrap Up and Departures
Shuttles will take people needing ride to the airport after this.
